Michelle Lavergne

Candidate in the 2025 election for District 2

A resident of Saint-Bruno for over 30 years, Michelle Lavergne, passionate about her city, is proudly running as a candidate for District 2 – Des Aviateurs, where she has lived for many years.

Michelle has an impressive track record, both professionally and through her community involvement.

A member of the Quebec Bar from 1989 to 2019 and now retired, she served as a lawyer for the Government of Quebec and later for the federal government for over 30 years. Her work spanned public safety, social law, public works, and taxation. She appeared before all levels of court, including the Supreme Court of Canada. Recipient of numerous awards and distinctions, she has also trained lawyers and judges on evolving social and legal issues through the Quebec Bar.

Social commitment is part of Michelle’s DNA. She grew up in a family deeply involved in municipal and community life. The principle of "giving back and helping others," especially families, seniors, and vulnerable individuals, perfectly reflects her values.

"I am very proud that Michelle is joining us as a candidate for District 2. Michelle has been actively involved in Saint-Bruno for a very long time, and it is clear to me that she will be close to the citizens. Her legal expertise will also be a great asset for our team. It will be a pleasure to finally have an elected representative in District 2 whom we can trust, someone who will not attempt to sabotage the city's projects."
– Ludovic Grisé Farand, Mayor of Saint-Bruno

In 1997, Michelle co-founded CPE Les Copains d’abord, one of the first early childhood centres (CPE) in Saint-Bruno. She is a member of the city's Urban Planning Advisory Committee. She also volunteers at the Centre d'action bénévole de Saint-Bruno Les P’tits bonheurs, participates in the parish and media food drives (Guignolée), and volunteers at Albert-Schweitzer School. As Vice-President of the Saint-Bruno Property Owners Association (APSB), she has worked hard in recent years to launch youth bicycle safety initiatives. Michelle has also volunteered for Centraide workplace campaigns and for the Jean-Louis David Christmas Baskets benefiting hearing-impaired families. An accomplished athlete, triathlete, and marathon runner, she co-founded the Rive-Sud Triathlon Club, promoting healthy lifestyles and making physical activity accessible to all ages.

Convinced by the results and achievements of Citoyens d’abord Saint-Bruno since 2021, Michelle believes this team is the best choice for District 2, capable of productively addressing citizens’ needs and building the future. With passion and commitment, she has decided to step forward and work constructively and harmoniously alongside Mayor Ludovic Grisé Farand’s dynamic team.
